Hello! My name is Salomé and I am currently an intern at Triple 3 Group. I come from France where I study Intercultural Management, Communication and Marketing at ESTRI School (Lyon, France).
I spent a six-month internship within Triple 3 Group in order to put theory to practice and have a first experience in Marketing. I also wanted to discover Human Resources and to improve my English language skills.
One of my teacher advised me to have a look at Triple 3 Group’s internship programme since a student from my school had previously completed an internship with them and gave a positive feedback.
I had a phone interview with the current director of the agency, which went really well. She told me my internship would be like an exchange of skills. On one hand, she needed someone to work on the marketing side of the company and on the other hand, the team would share their knowledge and experience with me, so I could learn how recruitment agencies are administered.
Recruitment and HR in general is a field I had never worked in before but I was very curious and willing to learn as much as possible. Internships are a way to try different jobs and career options and I was attracted to the human aspect of recruitment.
Plus, both Marketing and Human Resources are parts of the most important components of a company. Thus, it was essential to me to have a relevant work experience in these fields.
To be honest, I didn’t know much about Malta before arriving on the island. I was more focused on the content of the internship and the missions than on the destination. But anyway, I’m glad I ended up in Malta!
The purpose of an internship in a foreign country is to work in an intercultural environment. In Malta, you cannot be disappointed; multiculturalism is one of the main characteristics of the country. There is a significant amount of English schools, students coming to Malta to complete internships and even foreigners looking to settle here. A strong community of young expats is based on the north-east coast. You meet new people everyday and make friends from all around the world.
Plus, Malta is a very beautiful country marked by its history. There are a lot of places to visit and a lot of activities to do. The weather is ideal and with the sea nearby, you can never get bored.
This blog post marks the end of my internship. I feel a bit nostalgic as I’m going to leave the island soon. It’s difficult to sum up six months in a few lines, especially considering my stay in Malta has taught me more than I could imagined on both a professional and personal level.
My internship within Triple 3 Group was beneficial for me. When I arrived, I had no idea where my career was going and I didn’t know what I could do and what I was good at. This internship has given me a better understanding of my skills and what I enjoy doing because the missions were very flexible. The team look at your work, notice what you’re the best at and what you like doing or not. I had the opportunity to focus on Marketing and Communication as it is what I enjoyed the most. My colleagues have always been there to answer my questions and guide me when I needed. They are very friendly and supportive. It’s a pleasure working in their offices.
As I leave, I want to thank them for the opportunity I have been given. I would recommend everyone to do an internship within Triple 3 Group.
