I am Farina, an intern at Triple 3 Group Recruitment. While reading my post, you will probably soon realise, that I am a very special case of a person and not just in recruitment. Whenever someone asks me about myself, it takes a long time to explain my background. This post will make it so much easier!
I am a half Russian, half Indian girl, born and partially raised in Kazakhstan. When I was 4 years old, my parents and I moved to Belgium where I have been living for past 16 years. That’s probably the main reason why I have been studying Intercultural Relations Management, as for my multicultural background. I am going to graduate this year and would love to continue my studies somewhere abroad, preferably.
I was interested in HR during my studies and soon decided to go for an internship in this field. I did my first internship during my second year of university in one of the largest multinational recruitment agencies in Brussels. The internship was for just 6 weeks. However, I improved my French language skills and had chance to participate in French speaking job interviews recruiting for various fields and industries. That is how I got so intrigued by recruitment and Human Resources in general.
My internship at Triple 3 Group is the second I’m doing. I find recruitment in general to be a very versatile industry. I feel that my personality played a key role in choosing this kind of direction. I am a dynamic, communicative, professional and open person. Those are crucial qualities for a Human Resources specialist. Being a recruiter is not the only job opportunity in the industry but it is a good way to start with.
Being a recruiter is a very rewarding job, because you get to help individuals to find a job as well as companies when you recommend a valuable candidate. Recruiter is kind of a bridge between these two parties. If you manage to meet the needs of a client and a jobseeker by matching their requirements – seeing them both satisfied gives you that feeling of achievement and joy. In addition, this job gives you chance to explore the job market from another perspective.
Being a recruitment intern is the best way to obtain inspiration for your future career. It is a big help to those who are not certain, in which field/direction they want to continue. It can be a big help in making important decisions.
I wasn’t aware of Triple 3 Group Recruitment until I contacted Paragon Europe (organisation providing internships) as they arranged my internship at Triple 3 Group. Once I received the contact details from them, I contacted David, my manager, regarding the necessary documents for my school. I arrived in Malta in February and happily started my internship straight away.
I can strongly recommend an internship at Triple 3 Group to anyone, based on my experience. Since I have done already several internships and all of them were amazing but this one is definitely the best one. I feel very comfortable here. I have the impression, that we in our team are not only colleagues, but also friends.
I have always received necessary mentoring and I feel that this internship has taught me a lot about recruitment, HR in general, intercultural management, diversity and my own personal development. This internship gave me a lot of new insights and inspiration for the future. I simply love the atmosphere in the office and I always look forward going to work. I really appreciate the fact that I could use my language skills. The possibility to communicate in several languages is an important aspect in my job.
Besides all that, this internship gave me the opportunity to learn continuously. This is also a major factor to me when looking for a job. I had various tasks and I felt useful. It also felt as I was an employee and not just an intern. I was given responsibilities and was treated as everyone else. I think I can speak on behalf of all interns at Triple 3 Group.
I chose Malta because this island is a mystery. It has such a rich history and to be honest, I didn’t know a lot about it. Also, for our internship we were obliged to travel abroad. I am a quite an adventurous and impulsive person. I wanted to jump into an unforgettable experience and explore unknown grounds to me.
I had never been in Malta before, so I thought it would be great to give it a shot. Being abroad, in an unfamiliar environment for 3 months seemed to me as a great adventure. Of course, I did a research and checked, if Malta is a safe country to travel alone to. In addition, Malta is not that far from Belgium and it has beautiful nature. In fact, the first thing that came in mind in relation to Malta was the sea. I have always wanted to live in a place surrounded by sea. Hence, Malta was perfect. I wanted to discover this mysterious island by living and working here. I wanted to understand it’s history better by interacting with locals, visiting numerous monuments, artefacts, ancient buildings etc.
Great! I had a wonderful time and I didn’t expect anything of what I have experienced here. I met amazing people who became friends for life. I never thought I would fall in love with a place, but I did. Even with its flaws. To be honest, Malta has many flaws, but there are more positives aspects. You can find the whole world here. There’s a huge number of expats and tourists from all over the world. There are also over 300 sunny days a year. The distances are small and it’s like you are travelling in Time. Sometimes it feels like Malta has stopped in a certain era, as one moment, you see ancient buildings, the other moment you see sky-high brand new apartments and restaurants. It’s a very multi-faceted island. Astonishment guaranteed.
Triple 3 Group can help you with an amazing work experience. If you are planning on doing your internship in HR, don’t hesitate to contact them. They will train, mentor and prepare you for the job market.
